Exhibition - 1944-2024: 80 years ago, the liberation of Rosheim

The town is proud to announce an exceptional commemorative exhibition to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Rosheim. It offers all visitors a unique opportunity to relive the days and weeks that followed its liberation.

Entitled 1944 - 2024. 80 years ago the liberation of Rosheim, this immersive experience transforms Rosheim into a veritable open-air museum.
Totems are placed at the very locations where the historic photographs were taken 80 years ago. They allow visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the time and discover (or rediscover) the key moments of the Liberation.

Accessible to all, this event will help to pass on Rosheim's history to younger generations and strengthen the feeling of belonging to our shared history.

An exceptional anniversary requires an exceptional programme!
- 24 November: an official ceremony will be held to honour the memory of the liberation of Rosheim.
- 23-24 November & 30 November - 1 December: a unique exhibition will be held in the Salons of the Hôtel de Ville, to immerse visitors in the lives of Rosheimers at the time.
- 26 November: a lecture on the events surrounding the liberation of Rosheim on its anniversary, given by Alphonse Troestler (Association des Amis de Rosheim).

These events will provide an opportunity to better understand the historical context and the consequences of the liberation of Rosheim.
