Located near the Canal de la Marne au Rhin, the Russian Orthodox Church of Strasbourg, inspired by the traditional Russian churches of the Middle Ages, contrasts with the architecture of the surrounding buildings. Designed by Russian architect Dmitriy Pshenichnikov and built by Alsatian architect Michel Arnold, this concrete church is shaped like an octagon on which rests a 15-metre hexagonal spire, crowned by a golden dome. Construction began in 2014 and was completed in early 2018.
