Heritage Days - International Day of Peace at Centre Schweitzer

" Respect for life, human rights and freedoms, a culture of non-violence, dialogue, cooperation, freedom, justice, democracy, tolerance, solidarity, dialogue... these are just some of the fundamentals needed to promote a culture of peace in the world! "

Come and celebrate the International Day of Peace, as well as the Schweitzer Centre 's first anniversary!

Take part in a drawing competition, enjoy entertainment, guided tours of the centre, concerts and on-site food.

The centre is based on the work of Albert Schweitzer, the Nobel Peace Prize winner born in Kaysersberg, to show that peace is everyone's business.

A major figure of the 20th century and a pioneer of humanitarian medicine, Albert Schweitzer fought for peace and respect for life in ways that resonate today more than ever. To pay tribute to him, publicise his work and raise awareness of his career, the city has renovated the museum dedicated to him.

Thanks to its layout and immersive technologies, the Centre Schweitzer offers visitors a real experience based on the founding principles of our society: freedom, tolerance and mutual respect. At the end of the visit, everyone, young and old, can ask themselves what they can do, at their own level, to promote peace.
