Guemar

On the plain, at an altitude of 180 m, 5 km below the Wine Route. 1324 inhabitants, Guemar is located 5.5 km from Ribeauvillé and 10 km from Riquewihr. Various local shops supply the village and visitors. There are one hotel, bed-and-breakfast accommodation, and several furnished flats.
Its location close to main roads make it an ideal starting-point for the exploration of Alsace's main towns and cities. To one side of the village, the La Canardière pond and nature trail offer pleasant walks.

Do not miss:
The 14th-century Porte Haute gateway, the walk on the ramparts with their four towers, the catholic church of St. Léger with its Romanesque belltower.
The Ham Festival is a major event at the end of August.
