Museoconference: Malgré-Eux / Malgré-Elles, a living memory

As the national commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation gets underway, the memory of this era is still painful in Alsace. Since the early 1950s, the Malgré-Nous have come to symbolize what Nazi totalitarianism inflicted on the region. And yet, this figure, probably because it is not unambiguous, has not succeeded in generating an appeased regional and national memory. The conference will draw on French and German historiography to understand this living memory. Only in French.
