The McDonnell Trio is above all a story of family and musical transmission. Michael, the father, a former sailor, was lulled from an early age by the sounds of his own father's accordion and the songs sung by his mother. Today, he shares this passion with his two sons, Simon and Kevin. Together, they navigate three voices and two generations, breathing new life into Irish songs sometimes tinged with bluegrass.
