For the Journées du Patrimoine we're offering two readings at La maison Carré from Gustave Stoskopf's correspondence with his mother Caroline when he was in Paris, from 1887, studying at the Beaux-Arts. He talks about the atmosphere in the capital as seen by a young provincial who was a little unusual in that he was Alsatian, and therefore from Germany at the time. Unaccustomed to the French language, he often discovers with great humor the habits of Parisians and the artistic milieu of the time.
